FUNNIES OF THE MONTH

Delighted to see our new road and underground works are finally completed and therefore Lots 79 – 90 construction works is now commencing.

If you have been watching our development take place from the side lines, we strongly encourage you to come and see the progress of our site. Stage 2 has only a few Lots available, and this Stage is anticipated to sell out this month. Please call Leah on 0417 783 147 to arrange a site viewing.

A group of our residents rallied together and organised a trip to Melbourne during the past month and it sounds by all accounts they had a wonderful trip. Here are some happy snaps of them at the Dolly Parton 9 to 5 show and out for dinner in Southbank.

The wonderful editor of our “Welcome to the Community” column, Sheila Parker is currently enjoying a well-earned break in Fiji. Looks like she is certainly enjoying herself overseas and it’s great that travel has recommenced for many of us.

With her Majesty’s passing all of us here at the Village thank you for your service to the Commonwealth Queen Elizabeth. Village owners Jane and Keith Henville paid tribute to her Majesty on our flag mast in the village.

THE “SCENE” AROUND CHAMPION LAKES

Byford Bowls Club

Was visited by our residents last month for a 60’s, 70’s & 80’s sing along with lunch.

Carpet Bowls in the Lodge

What an incredible turn our we witnessed for the inaugural carpet bowls tournament that commenced last Sunday in the Clubhouse. Well done to all who came along and enjoyed their Sunday afternoon in friendly company.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

Faye Ibrahim and Ron Prebble are currently looking after the garden and would like to thank all those residents who turned out for the gardening meeting last Thursday 1st September.

Main outcome of that meeting is that residents are being given the opportunity to take responsibility for an individual plot in the raised garden beds and this initiative is already being very well received. Should you wish to take up this offering please liaise with either Ron or Faye and they will very happily allocate you a spot.

There will also be a collective area of community plantings for the village residents to enjoy as has been the past experience however to ensure that these individual plots are not disturbed, we ask that residents do not help themselves direct from the garden area. Produce will be available via the clubhouse kitchen area as normal.

A Community Garden established by those who enjoy the hobby is a great way to enjoy the fruits of your labour in a fun and very welcoming environment whilst absorbing a bit of Vitamin D at the same time.
